In 2016 I worked too much - it turned out to be the equivalent of 17 months. I'm not proud of it and am trying, thus far unsuccessfully, to correct this in 2017. But, I am pleased that I did escape the bleakness of all that work with quite a lot of time in the field and follow-up blogging. To be active throughout the summer I focused on topics other than birds. Fortunately, I have good friends who are dragonfly experts and are fast becoming entomology generalists - especially in the upper midwest. This has helped me establish a new interest. I've learned a lot along the way with much more to learn.
