Classic Loggerhead Shrike pose

On a recent trip to the Dallas exurb of Celina, I had a chance to do a little birding.  In a remaining open area surrounded by a massive, ongoing housing development, I was stunned and thrilled to see a Loggerhead Shrike.  The bird was overall quite cooperative, but unfortunately the backlighting, bright sun and the bird's dark eye in dark cheek patch conspired against me to reveal its true beauty.  The bird's eye can only be seen in the second photo.  Otherwise, I thought the photos revealed the classic pose and behavior of the bird.  In the right geographic location and habitat, if you see a bird like this, Loggerhead Shrike may be your reward.
